Trousers from the Japanese outdoor specialist Taion.
Taion is the Japanese for “body temperature”, which is fitting considering this Japan-based brand is famous for incredibly lightweight yet remarkably warm down jackets. Their basic rule is: The higher the proportion of down compared to feathers, the warmer and higher the quality of the garment.
Fluffy, soft down stores heat much better than harder, more rigid feathers.
While normal winter clothing often has a down to feather ratio of 80 to 20, Taion only uses 90% down as the insulation. This way, much less filling is needed:
The trousers keep you warm, but don’t look bulky.
With drawstring hem against cold draughts and two zipped side pockets.
In a comfortable cut. Total trouser length in size 14/24: 78cm (30.7"). Colour: Navy. 100% polyester. Insulation: 90% down, 10% feathers. Contains non-textile parts of animal origin (filling). Hand wash.
