Espadrilles, the Mediterranean classics with the characteristic jute sole, are in vogue again. Fashionably enhanced by chic suede and an oversized bow, these could come from one of the exclusive designer collections. But instead of paying a fortune, we buy them directly from the specialist: Macarena®, the young line of the traditional Spanish manufacturer, Laro, focuses entirely on espadrilles with an innovative character and a modern look.
Handmade top-quality at an affordable price.
The uppers are made of soft suede leather, hand-cut and sewn onto the durable jute sole to which a rubber outer sole is welded. The hardwearing, water-repellent material offers better protection against hot sand and wet pavements than partially glued rubber soles. The padded footbed offers good comfort. Stretchy inserts on either side of the uppers make sure you won’t slip out of the espadrilles.
