The world of fashion has rediscovered the beret – and the traditional hatter Mayser from the Allgäu has rediscovered edge stitching.
A nearly forgotten handicraft dating from 1833.
The interesting ribbed pattern is created on a special machine that has become a rarity: Instead of the usual two threads, this one operates with just one thread and sews 10 metres of fine wool edging onto a wooden form. Thanks to this special production, the finished beret stays soft and flexible, even along the seams.
Sturdy, pleasantly warm and non-scratchy.
Thanks to the balanced material mixture, your new hat is suitable for nine months of the year. It can be folded extra small and will always return to its perfect, original shape.
