A table runner resembling a painting.

Unique weaving method with innovative, tricoloured pixel technique. From Ekelund, court purveyor to the Swedish royal family.

Much more interesting than simple jacquard. The Christmas star on this festive table runner looks as if it‘s been applied with a brush: With subtly graduated and iridescent colour interplay and no sharp lines. Up close, the mystery is revealed as all shades are made up of only 3 basic colours: Red, yellow and blue – just like a colour printer. A stroke of genius from the traditional Swedish company Ekelund.
Rainbow weaving technique from the USA. Developed and patented in 1997.
For example, the green-looking leaves are woven from yellow and blue warp threads (the weft threads always have a natural colour). What‘s even more interesting is that when viewed from the side, the Christmas star seems to have the same intense colour as a classic jacquard motif.
From the oldest family-run textile company in the world. Since 1692.
Even today Ekelund manufactures exclusively in Horred in the south west of Sweden. Their list of elite clientele is long: The Swedish royal family has repeatedly ordered table linen from Ekelund since 1878 (!). In addition, a ten metre long tablecloth was woven and sewn with the Russian state emblem for the Kremlin in 1996. The Emperor of Japan also favours the woven items by Ekelund.
Made from 100% cotton. Heavy quality of 390g/m². Machine washable at 60°C. Size 150 x 35cm (4.9ft x 1.2ft) (L x W). Design: Margareta Nyström.
