The sturdy material of military origin is experiencing a fashion comeback with the now fashionable overshirts. Thomas Mason – fabric supplier of the renowned shirt makers on London’s Jermyn Street – has woven an elegant version:
Just as robust as typical twill, but lighter, softer and finer textured.
The shirt is tailor-made in various collar sizes and fits more precisely than casual shirts in the common sizes S, M, L etc. It goes with a jacket but can also be worn on its own thanks to the on-trend breast flap pockets.
The workmanship is as durable as the fabric.
Sewn with eight purl stitches per cm to make the flat-felled seam almost indestructible. Four-hole buttons, firmly sewn on with a thread shank. Finished with a button-down collar, single button cuffs with buttoned vent.
Slightly tailored fit with back darts. Length in collar width 16": 82cm (32.3"). Sleeve length: 67cm (26.4"). 100% cotton. Machine washable.
