A work of art made in the Andes from 100% alpaca. Hand-knit in 28 colours.
As soft as silk, as hardwearing as cotton but with the delicate feel of Cashmere – these are the seemingly incompatible qualities of alpaca wool, the unique structure which is acquired on the rough high plateaux of the Andes. The rare, precious yarn evens out temperature differences, virtually never pills, does not scratch, unlike other yarns, and is wonderfully hardwearing.
Produced individually on hand-operated knitting machines by the most experienced knitters in Peru.
Knitted using the intricate fully-fashioned technique (by picking up and dropping stitches) for a perfect fit, the pullover will keep its shape after years of wear and washing. Because they are hand-sewn, the seams are extremely flat and soft. The 28 colours – brown, rust, khaki, orange, cherry, grey, green, brass, beige, burgundy, black, cement, old rose, aubergine, blue, plum, dove grey, navy blue, deep lilac, olive, stone, terra cotta, bronze, copper, henna, nut brown, loden green and muscat – are combined using the finest jacquard technique in a pattern which is varied, yet subtle. Ideal for timeless classic outfits.
